Mr. Kaai du Plessis Presentation
My passion for cats began in South Africa, where I started breeding Persians in 1987.
Over the years, I have bred both Persian and British Shorthair cats,
dedicating myself to the development and promotion of these beautiful breeds.
I became a Committee Member of the Persian Cat Society in 1990 and continue to be an active member. I have served as both Treasurer and Chairman of the Society, contributing to its growth and success.
In 2002 and 2003, I held the position of Vice President of the Southern Africa Cat Council (SACC), followed by my tenure as President from 2004 to 2007.
I approached this role with great dedication, striving to promote the cat fancy and the recognition of pedigree cats.
I have represented the cat fancy internationally, attending two World Cat Congress meetings: Hadfield, UK (2006) – Dortmund, Germany (2007)
My judging journey began in 1992, and I achieved All Breed Judge status in April 2001. I served on the Kwa-Zulu Natal Panel of Judges until December 2012, before immigrating to the Netherlands.
After settling in the Netherlands, I became a member and judge with the World Cat Federation (WCF). For the past six years, I have served on the WCF Disciplinary Commission, acting as spokesperson for the last four years.
I am honored to have received the prestigious Diamond Judge title, and I am deeply grateful to my organization for their trust in me.
I have judged in numerous countries across Europe, Asia, as well as in New Zealand, Australia, Russia, and many others.
